Call us now to check your smoke alarms - new legislation is now in effect

The Queensland Government has passed legislation that came into effect on 1 January 2017, that applies to new domestic dwellings as well as properties that are undergoing substantial renovations, are rented, and existing properties.  This legistation requires that smoke alarms must be the photoelectric type only and have to be hard wired to the electricity supply.  If there is more than one smoke alarm, then all smoke alarms have to be interconnected to each other throughout the house.  Each bedroom must now have a smoke alarm.  Hallways serving each bedroom must have a smoke alarm.  And finally, a smoke alarm must be installed in the exit path of every storey not containing bedrooms.
